I'm going to guess that the same folks in the Tea Party screaming about the deficit will somehow find this breaking news to be irrelevant. Of course, they also think the sky's the limit when it comes to spending on immigration enforcement. So much for being consistent. I'm in France until Sunday and blogging from my iPad. This is what I want to do :
I have a scrolling text on a Movie Clip, and I want the user to chose the scrolling speed. An example of what I need, is the scrolling text on the Home Page of www.metallica.com. Please see it, and tell me the script I should use, to do smth like that.

My I-140 PD is pending since May 1Oth, But no Approval.
The dates are Hoax, I dont know what Nebraska is doing,
the Processing says August but I am from May but no Approvals yet.

Hi,
Following are my USA stay details on L1 and H1-B visa:-
1) Stayed in USA from 01-SEP-2003 till 25-JAN-2004 on L1 visa(expired now).
2) Stayed in India from 26-JAN-2004 till 01-NOV-2004.
3) Stayed in USA from 02-NOV-2004 till date on new H1-B visa(still valid).
I read somewhere that 6 year period for H1 also counts L1 stay. Can someone please suggest, what should be my H1's final expiry date based on above details? Will that L1 stay be counted, even though I went back to India and came on a new H1-B visa?

No, the H1 6 yrs period will apply only when for the period when your Payrolls where generated using H1 visa.

My Parents have 10 yr visitor visa. They came to USA, stayed for 4 months and left in July 09. Now they want to come again in October 09 and stay for 6 months. Is it possible? Do they face any issues at POE? Gurus please give your valuable thoughts or experiences?

AILA, as commercial entity as it is, can provide little more free information to the immigrant community that it "serves."
I'm grateful that individual law firms provide some free information. I like(and thankful to) Mathew Oh's concise, to the point information.

I work for company A which sponsored my L1B (my current visa status). Also, few years back company B sponsored my H1B which for some reason I did not utilize (did not even get it stamped) and hence company B cancelled it. Now my questions are -
1. Can L1-B be transferred to H1-B without going through a new visa application?
2. Can the cancelled H1-B be re-instated and utilized?
3. If another company C applies for my H1-B what are the chances of getting it looking at the current work visa regulations and prospective changes? Will my past petition of H1-B cause some issues with consulate?
4. My wife is on L2 and as EAD. Once I file for change of status will the EAD still be valid or it will automatically be void?
Please Help...

HI,
I have concurrent filed I140 and 485 in Aug 2007. My I 140 is still pending. Can some one let me know what could be the reason. Is there any one whose i140 is pending since last three years.I am worried because processing time is around 4-6 months.Any help in this regard will be appriciated.

I have returned today from india
The immigration at DTW airport gave me a tough time
They were not happy about the fact that i Canadian green card
They advice me to surrened it and said it does not satisfy the US and does not not convince them that a person is trying to adjust status and holding a canadian green card
He said he made notes and will keep an eye on my case and adviced me 2nd time to surrender the card and keep paperwork for proof to prove the US authorities
I Have travelled at least 6 times on Advance parole and always had Canadian Immigration stamp on my passport (i have not travelled to canada after getting my Pr card in Oct 2008)
Pls advice

USCIS has updated the H-1B cap count. (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=138b6138f898d010VgnVCM10000048f3d6a1RCR D&vgnextchannel=91919c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD) As of December 8, CIS has received approximately 61,500 cases against the regular (non-Master's) H-1B cap of 65,000. However, since CIS sets aside up to 6,500 of this 65,000 for nationals of Chile and Singapore, it is possible that they will stop accepting other H-1B petitions soon, if not already. We are still filing new petitions, but with fingers crossed that they are not too late. If you need to file, please do so ASAP.
