If u applied 485 in June 07 u might have already been alloted a visa number...Call uscis to find out...A nicer IO may give u some details abt your case

First of all I am really sorry for all this happening to you. Unfortunately, this is happening more and more since the anti-dowry laws have been made which are so ridiculous. Females get the credit of being innocence from our society even if they are not. All they need to do is be 1. somewhat beautiful, 2. sob in society and 3. be young and everybody on the earth thinks that they are "poor , innocent girl" ..even if they are perfect culprits.

Its the high time we convince the senators who said NAYS. Lets start SOME KIND OF CAMPAIN aiming these guys. I am sure that core's hands are there behind this amendment. Well done IV. Don't get dissappointed, keep trying for Skill bill or for similar amendments. Its really unfortunate that we lost a very very big chance. Lets do something immediately.

Guys, please continue to leave voice messages, emailing & faxing those idiots at Atlanta PERM center who moved the staff to do other work like processing h2b cases. We need to be persistent if we need any positive outcome. Would those idiots who reassigned staff to do other work, now turn around and help us be reassigining more staff to clear the backlogs? We need to keep questioning them and bombard them with emails, fax and phone calls. It is very important that we act now, if not you all know how delicate of situation we are all finding ourselves in. I think they advanced the dates to 2006 not to approve the cases but to collect new applications with the new fees.They approved couple of cases only to show that they r working on old cases (2006 which is old for them or however they interpret).

There was a change in LUD for both me and my wife on 3/4/09. Then on my wife's, there were LUD ON 3/5 & now 3/6/09 also. When I open the Case Number, it shows the usual information "Current Status: Case received and pending". Any idea what this could mean. Thanks.

Dear IV,
Its not about me. I am planning to do a flower or some campaign that all will agree upon in less than a week. We must do before the next bulletin comes out.
Is it possible for IV to send a very good number of flowers to the departments.
The basis for this is that some of the people here probably may not be comfortable to send to all the members due to whatever restrictions they may have(ideally they must be able to do themselves). If so, we can start a new campaign and make some fund and once again shoot that may flowers to make some difference. IV can go to a big place and place a huge order. Just my 2c.

I wasn't planning on porting my PD until I read this nonsense "Injunction" threat. I will now port my PD; GCTest - go and file your injunction. If you don't have enough balls to do that I can lend you one.
That memo/document you pointed out is an interpretation. We have already said that USCIS's interpretation is incorrect. We intend to correct this interpretation with this lawsuit.
Infact, it would be wrong to call this a lawsuit.
We are aiming for an injunction (or a stay order) in step 1 of the lawsuit that would prevent USCIS from working on any interfiling/PD porting requests.
If the injunction is with retroactive effect, all the EBs (not just EB3) who have ported their PDs will have their cases frozen. USCIS would not be able to work on them.
The remainder of the lawsuit can take its sweet time... the injunction should serve the primary cause.

America does not need to do anything to get more workers. People will keep coming and it will always be a positive flow of good talent into America. The only Indians (and others) who might tell you that they do not want to come to the USA and the American dream is gone, etc., are talking bull and they know it. They will jump on a plane "the next minute" and come if the could. It's the same thing always: Go back Yankeee.................................and take me with you."

Vivek I do not fully agree with you. I do agree that first timers are eager to come to America but once the game gets exposed they will have second thoughts. Why there are no takers for german green card? Or why do people apply for HSMP in more numbers than any other european country. Because atleast on the face of it, that promises a long term path. How many people will want to jump on the plane if America says there will be no green cards, how many people will be attracted to it? America wants to have it both ways, they want people here but do not want to give GCs either.
I graduated from a good college in India. My classmates are divided 50-50 in US and India. The people who are putting up here either did very well and were toppers or failures. All others stayed in India and they will come here only if there is a long term benefit to come here.

I, for one, am happy with this Oct visa bulletin. This is how it should be. First give GCs to all those with < 2003 PD. You guys with 2006 and 2007 pd should be glad you even got to file I-485 and EAD. What are you bitching about?.
