The only harsh thing he said was that Indian education was awful. Everything else he said was extremely positive especially when he talked about the amazing progress India is making. I think he said that because he was saying that India is racing ahead and Indians are very successful entrepreneurs. (I am not sure).

If you are objective, can you argue that much of the 350K engineers graduated in India are not up to par. No offense to the graduates, however the schools are often just not up to par. Much of this graduation is private for profit colleges, frequently owned by a few investors or families.
US Engineering colleges are much better accredited in my view.
That said however, India being a much larger country (population wise) there are probably more than 70K good quality engineering grads. coming out of India annually.

Its stupid to say my wife is not working so she has no business to send money to her parents. Its so wrong and I'm surprised folks can think like this. Marriage is about sharing and even a child will tell you that. If the in-laws are any sensible they won't accept gifts from the son-in-law but its for them to decide.And stop receiving any gifts from either sides.

That is a standard message. Basically yur 485 has been reopened. Unless your priority date is current there is nothing much they can do, but if there is a need for RFE, they will send you RFE.

There is no doubt about NRIs are the prime reason for the real estate boom in India. It is tottally unbelivable that 2 bedroom flat in a normal second class town has gone to up to 40 lakes. Decent independent houses are in terms of crores in small cites. Two factors. One is foreign money and second in black money from local dadas/politicians. Also demand vs supply. The availble land is small and demand for that land is too high due to these two gropus.
I visited one of my NRI friends house in India, where he is not going to live as he is a US citizen. His parents already won two houses and they bought another house as a investment. This house in a recent development area in a small town where there is no high tech employment is avialable; In my feeling it may not worth 5 lakes; they were selling at 45 lakes. Even if anyone ready to pay 45 lakes there is no unit is avialable; everything was sold to NRIs. No resident won the houses in that area. All the dads and mos are baby sitting the houses. Renting alos not that easy. It is tottally unbelivable. I wonder why all the NRIs buying house in India and increisng the house price? The guys working here (or any part of the world) and not going to live in India, why government should allow to buy the house and increse the price? Everyone tries to do real estate bussiness there. That is the main reason for price increase.
Is is sad. All these NRIs are going to learn a very valuable lesson. Speculation is not a good strategy for investing. A lot learned that in the past few months here in USA. In a year we will be seeing the full blown post bubble correction in India. If one can rent an apartment for 15,000 why would one buy it for 50 lakhs. Something just popped up from my family.
I filed concurrent 140-485-765-131 in Nebraska.
DHL delivered the package on 1st of february.
My checks were not yet cashed and I did not get any reply from USCIS (and neither did my lawyer).
My lawyer said it is impossible and I am better off refiling but this implies redoing a lot of things that cost money and time.
How can I try to expedite without a receipt number?
Well what you should have done was filed it with the local USCIS office with a letter proving the emergency at this stage all u can do is wait for the receipt notice once you receive that make an infopass appointment and explain your emergency with proof they will expedite.

Even if it is CURRENT for 10 years, thats not going to help anyone below that level as everyone will qualify for EB2 in future, almost all the future candidates will have minimum of 5 years experience.

This appears to be half the battle won for EB2 as it has to translated into actual approval. Also we must be mindfull of EB3 retrogression and must not lose sight of it in this Euphoria.
